I was born on September 5, 1945, the fourth child of Leonard and Chyrrel Hughes. I went to school in Virgin Valley and graduated in 1963. I've always liked music and played the clarinet through high school and two years in college. But my first love is to sing. Mom played the piano for me and I got many opportunities to use this talent through my life.

While attending Dixie College, I met and married my sweetheart, Denton Clyde Rushton. He is still my sweetheart after 38 years of marriage. We have been blessed with seven children, all born while we were living in Tacoma, Washington.

Richard, born July 5 1968
Kristine Marie, born 11 Aug 1971
JoLynn, born 27 December 1973
James Denton, born 21 September 1975
Thomas Lyle, born 1 September 1978
Julie, born 17 March 1980

All of our children are married now, and we have 14 grand-children. We have just recently moved to American Fork, Utah where Clyde works for a Cabinet company. Just two weeks ago, he was put in the Bishopric of our Ward. I guess now we know why we moved to American Fork!
